New Hollies album!

Throughout 2005, the band has been hard at work recording an album of brand

new songs. This project is important and exciting. In fact the boys have

postponed a Summer Tour of The United States so they can concentrate wholly

on the album, although the band will perform at previously planned

prestigious summer festivals and concerts in Europe and England.

The Album will feature a host of major songwriting talent from both sides of

the Atlantic and is scheduled for release in February 2006. Several songs

are penned by Rob Davis, who along with The Hollies' Ray Stiles, was a

founder member of the British band MUD. Rob won a Grammy award for writing

the Kylie Minogue hit; "Can't Get You Out Of My Head".

He has also had hits with Will Young, Enrique Iglesias, Rachel Stevens,

Gareth Gates and many more.

There are several other fantastic songs written by A1's Mark Read.

Co-writing some of the songs is the legendary Lamont Dozier who wrote such

classics as: 'Reach Out I'll Be There' and 'I Can't Help Myself' by The Four

Tops. He also wrote 'Baby Love' and 'Where Did Our Love Go' for The Supremes

and more recently 'Two Hearts' for Phil Collins. Other co-writers are Cliff

Masterson and respected artist/producer Greg Alexander

The Hollies will return to The Royal Albert Hall, London for a performance

on the 28th October 2005, during their UK Autumn concert tour. They will

perform as many of their classic hits as time will allow - plus selected

brand new tracks from their forthcoming CD - which will be released by EMI

on February 20th 2006 prior to 'The Hollies Spring Tour'. The title on the

new Studio Album will be "Staying Power".

As a taster, two promotional tracks - 'Hope' and 'Shine on Me' - will be

issued on September 26th.

The first single, a beautiful ballad, will be released on February 6th in

time for Valentines Day.

Peter Howarth is joining The Hollies for the autumn tour.

The Hollies were all shocked and saddened by the sudden death of their

friend and colleague Carl Wayne. It was Carl's wish for The Hollies Autumn

Tour to go ahead as scheduled and for The Hollies great songs to continue to

be performed live.

For the Autumn Tour, The Hollies are very excited that Peter Howarth will be

joining them. Like their old friend Graham Nash, Peter was born in Blackpool

and for many years has sung with Cliff Richard. He was also co-writer of the

West End Musical 'Prince of Sherwood Forest' and recently has starred in two

National Tours of 'Only The Lonely', the Roy Orbison Story.

The Hollies look forward to seeing their fans again this Autumn.

Carl Wayne, leadsinger of The Hollies from 2000 - 2004, died on August 31st 2004.

"It's a very sad day for me. I've just learned that Carl Wayne passed away, following a long illness.

My thoughts and prayers go to his wife, his son and all of his family.

The world has lost a great singer, with a great voice - A true professional.

I know The Hollies and all of their fans around the world, will miss him.

He was a true Hollie!"
